Steve & AI Grooves

Steve & AI Grooves is a music project featuring AI interpretations of original songs composed, in whole or in part, by Steve Raymond and his musical partners.  Using Suno AI, I explore new arrangements, instrumentation and vocal interpretations of songs that began as human-created compositions.

For purists that object to AI music...well...so be it.  I don't fault your position!  But for me, AI music is an avenue to bring songs I've written or contributed to into a more fully realized musical setting.

And, rest assured, the AI interpretations are more musically entertaining than their predecessors, featuring me performing all the parts on my Tascam 244!!

The Story Behind Lost

Lost was written and recorded by Frank Puckett, guitarist for The Ellementaries, and his brother David Puckett. The song has taken an interesting musical journey!

After the original home recording many years ago, the song was reimagined through Suno AI. That version was ultimately released by Steve & AI Grooves on the album Jazzish Vocal Grooves.

Inspired by the AI interpretation, The Ellementaries developed their own arrangement, which was performed and recorded by the band. This single is that recording.

It's a rather interesting creative circle: a song written by a musician, reinterpreted through AI, and then brought back to life through a new arrangement performed by human musicians.

Both recordings reflect different interpretations of Frank and David's original composition.
